Where are you located?

Due to COVID-19 I am currently offering teletherapy using Zoom software.

Do I really need therapy?

Having an objective, non-judgmental person who is not closely involved in your life can be very helpful in sorting out things you are struggling with, in ways family, friends, or loved ones, cannot.  Just hearing a different perspective can make a world of difference!

How will I know you are the right therapist for me?

I offer a free 20 minute consultation phone call so that you can get an idea of who I am to help you determine if we are a good fit or not.  That "good fit" is the most important part of therapy, even more so than any education or experience I might have.  You will know!

Do I need to fill something out before we meet for the first session?

Yes!  I will send you a link for the intake paperwork, as well as your privacy and confidentiality rights, and a few other forms.

What will the first session be like?

The first session, called an Intake Session, will be very casual.  I will be asking general questions about your history and your present life.  We will start to think about where you want therapy to go, and what we need to focus on.

What if I can't come every week?

I usually try to encourage new clients to attend every week at the beginning of therapy.  However, I also know that life sometimes gets in the way, and it is just not possible, for various reasons.  We will decide on a schedule that works for you.

What if my partner won't come for Couple's Counseling?

If that is the case, you and I will discuss if you'd like to continue Individual Counseling to work on issues with which you may be struggling on your own.

What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Health Savings Account (HSA) through my billing portal online.  I am also an In-Network provider with CIGNA, and in the process of becoming In-Network with BCBS, OPTUM/UHC, and TRICARE.
